Activity Report for May 2019
As shown in the activity report for May 2019 below, my online business continues to improve. Yet my results are still off the mark compared to set goals.
Income
Amazon associate sales made up all of May’s income results. All other affiliate programs are silent for now. Also my in-house sales for the month were dead.
Of course, it’s hard to make sales without running campaigns. However, training and coaching programs are always harder to sell than durable products with established brands.
Anyway, my total income for May slightly improved over April which improved over March. My actual gross sales nearly doubled over April. But the earning commission percentage dropped about half to 5.95%. All said and done, May’s income was $48.80.
Expenses
Since revenue is down overall, I kept expenses for May to a minimum. The only necessary expense was the renewal of 3 domains. So with that said, total expenses for May were a reasonable $34.12.
Bottom Line
With continued improved sales and low expenses, I realized a profit for May. Even though it was lower than expected at $14.16, it’s still a profit. And for the first time in ages, each month this year has improved over the previous month. That makes it 4 months in a row. Let’s see if I can keep this welcomed trend going!
Stats
Web Traffic:
May’s Web traffic continued to improve over April. The increase was 31.35% over last month. This is another trend that continues to improve overall. Two sites came close to set goals. One site exceeded it’s set traffic goals. Only 9 of 13 sites are being tracked, for now.
Article Posts & Reviews:
I continued to focus on writing more post reviews for the month. 17 posts were completed and published which is 21.43% increase over last month’s 14 posts.
I’m still focused on remodeling one site at time, which affects activity on my other sites. Yet it is important to maintain an active presence for each site that slows my progress for all sites.
Email marketing and mail lists:
I discovered issues with the way my current email service was setup. Unlike most monthly paid services like Get Response or Constant Contact, I have to set parameters that includes “proof” that my emails are from my domains. I had to make changes on the server side to improve delivery rates. These corrections helped, but more is still needed to be done before I have a chance for better delivery rates.
Also I made the executive decision to go back to double opt-in for all my lists. Even though this will probably lower my opt-in rates, at least the quality will increase and assure me that the emails submitted were real.
