Activity Report for January 2018

Activity Report for January 2018

The activity report for January 2018 shows it was a profitable one. It’s the best January I’ve had since starting online! And it’s all because of just one website.

Income

Again Amazon was my only source of income for the month. Very few promotions for other affiliate networks are being made at this time. And I had a slightly lower commission percentage average at 7.7% compared to the prior month.

January’s earned commission was just over $100. And that was basically from just one website. Because it is a new year, I cannot rank January other than to say it is currently #1 for the year. Yet January still missed the set sales goal.

Expenses

Two website domain names came due in January along with the attached Whois guard. It was important to renew both since their production rank was #3 and #4 from last year.

Add of course my other expense was the monthly Internet service needed.

Overall, January expenses totaled $63.50. This was slightly higher than December’s expenses.

Bottom Line

Even with slightly higher expenses, I experienced a profit for January.  That’s because I had my best January sale commissions since being online. So the bottom line result was a gain of about $37 for the month. But I still missed my targeted income goal for January.

Tracking Stats

The average web traffic numbers dramatically dropped overall! It was one of the worst drops in traffic I’ve experience since being online. Several sites showed zero traffic for the entire month. This makes it a composite drop of just over 50% – that’s half the traffic compared to December.  And December’s web traffic numbers were weak! It couldn’t possibly be Google analytics being wrong could it?

Other Issues

Blog posts and product reviews greatly increased for the month by a whopping 433%. The biggest reason was increased effort with product reviews and promotions. The actual number of blog posts remained the same.

No new subscribers were added to any of my lists. Efforts continue to get a new email cloud service I purchased going with no luck. I did make progress, but still cannot get it to connect with my website. Until this issue is fully resolved, I will not be adding subscribers to any of those lists.
