Activity Report for February 2018
Well, the activity report for February 2018 shows it was a income loss. Although it was a loss, it’s still the best February I’ve had since starting online! Sales occurred just on one website. The killer was expenses.
Not to sound like a broken record, Amazon again was my only source of this month’s income. I’m searching for other affiliate promotions to be involved in. At least the earning commission percentage average was higher at 8% than it was last month.
My total earned commission was just under $32. And that was due to just my one website. Even though it’s still early in the year, February currently ranked #2 for the year. But it missed the set monthly sales goal by 93%.
Ouch! It was an expensive month.
I acquired more content for 2 of my new niche websites. For one site, it was an article pack. The other site, it was a complete niche package with video product reviews. Both purchases accounted for $45 of February’s expenses.
The other expense was not expected, yet. It was automatic renewal (which I hate) for my antivirus software. This time it took out a big chunk which accounted for almost $96. Like most auto-renewals, they take it out weeks early. And it ends up being at their most expensive price. Let’s just say that I contacted them and will get a “difference” refund.
And of course my other normal monthly expense was to my Internet service provider.
Overall, February expenses totaled $176.78, which was 3 times greater than January expenses.
With higher expenses and lower sales, I experienced a loss for February. The bottom line result was a loss of $145 for the month. I was way off my goal! This means that I’ll have to do even better for the month of March.
I don’t know what’s up with Google analytics, but it seems to randomly go on vacation for some of my sites. And not always the same sites. This time my second most visited site lost analytics for 2 weeks. Fortunately, I have another tracker on it. Even though Google didn’t show much going on with it, the other tracking program did.
However, I still used the accumulated reported traffic results from Google. There was a slight increase with overall web traffic of 10%. Also, 4 of my active sites are not being indexed as of now. When it happens, it will change the dynamics of average monthly traffic flow.
For the second month in a row, blog posts and product reviews increased during February by 31%. I’m still working out the kinks, but that number should continue to increase each month until I reach my goal.
I basically wasted a day trying to continue setting up a third party email/autoresponder service. It is incredibly ridiculous to setup and I still don’t have it integrated to work with a delivery service. I also noted that where my lists and emails are housed (cloud based), the app itself isn’t secure. Because of that, it’s back to the drawing board.
